I'd be nervous if a 17-year-old kid wasn't a liberal. When he's 30, we'll know what he really is. Not that I'll care much.

I was WAAAAAAY more liberal at 30 than I was at 17. (And am even more so at 34). But YMMV.

I'm less interested in his ideological evolution than in his insight on the inanity (and insanity) of the world of professional punditry.

And it does. But that's fine. It's a big ol' world.

Me too, actually. A 17 year old kid repudiating something he said when he was 13 isn't particularly newsworthy. A 17 year old kid repudiating something he said 5 minutes ago is pretty commonplace. We both understand this, which is the joy of being an amateur pundit -- we don't have to pretend it actually means anything.
