Me too, actually. A 17 year old kid repudiating something he said when he was 13 isn't particularly newsworthy. A 17 year old kid repudiating something he said 5 minutes ago is pretty commonplace. We both understand this, which is the joy of being an amateur pundit -- we don't have to pretend it actually means anything.

I'd be nervous if a 17-year-old kid wasn't a liberal. When he's 30, we'll know what he really is. Not that I'll care much.
I was WAAAAAAY more liberal at 30 than I was at 17. (And am even more so at 34). But YMMV.
