so...when do we get to break out the cigars?

Well, it looks like America's steadfast opposition to the Castro regime has finally driven him from power.

Have you ever heard of the board game "Junta"? My understanding from some friends is that when your character is killed during the course of the game, you come back next turn with a new character who's putatively the brother of the dead person. Traditionally, your first act as the new character was to exclaim, "My brother: he was a pig!" Then you go on to play as rapaciously as your "brother" or anyone else. :)

I'm visiting there next week -- maybe Fidel will have time to hang out since he'll no longer be
El Presidente?

Phil--I'm jealous. Do you have permission or are you just going to ask them not to stamp your passport (I assume you are going from and returning through Mexico)?

BTW, folks--check out Phil's blog, which is replete with recent dispatches from the most underrated country in North America (and soon, apparently, from the post-Castro Cuba) @:
